New Hull boss Tim Walter said during a tricky start to the Championship season that it would take time to see his changes flourish.
Winless in their first five matches, they have now won three in a row, suggesting the German has been proved right.
However, before people get carried away by Hull’s turnaround, those three wins — 3-1 at Stoke and QPR, either side of a 4-1 drubbing of Cardiff — were against teams camped in the bottom third of the division.
And, alarmingly, in those three games they allowed the opposition a combined 51 shots on their goal.
Against Cardiff they can get away with it — against Norwich they may be found out.
Norwich are also in good form, following a 4-1 win over Watford and 3-2 triumph at Derby with a hard-earned 1-1 draw at home to Leeds, still the ultimate barometer for any side in the second tier.
