Popular Colorado real estate developer, Mannsfeld assassinated

A high-profile real estate developer from Colorado, United Boris Mannsfeld, 56, has been assassinated.

(“United” seems out of place—did you mean “U.S.-based” or “notorious”? If “United” is part of his name, it should be confirmed.)

Mannsfeld was found fatally shot in Belize over the weekend.

According to local reports, police said the incident could have been the result of a professional hit by a disgruntled business associate.

Fox News, citing local media outlet Breaking News Belize, BNB, reports that he was found lying face down on the floor of his yard on Friday night with a bullet wound to the back of his head. (Removed extra space and corrected verb agreement.)

The tragic incident took place at The Villas at Cocoplum in Maya Beach, a luxury villa complex the deceased helped build in the small Central American country.

Police Commissioner Chester Williams told reporters that Mannsfeld’s death has all the hallmarks of a targeted hit. Williams, however, added that the exact motive remains unclear.

A loaded 9mm pistol, Mannsfeld’s wallet, and a spent shell casing were found near his body, police said.

“It has all the indications of a hit.

“We are looking at the business transactions that Mr. Mannsfeld may have had with other individuals, with our view to see if we will be able to close in on a possible motive and perhaps a suspect,” Williams said. (Adjusted verb tense for clarity.)

The police chief added that one suspect, Frik De Meyere, is currently in custody, although charges had yet to be filed as of Monday.
