HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — New homeowners discovered possible human remains in a house in northeast Harris County Saturday.

Sheriff Ed Gonzalez posted on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, that at least two men were cleaning their new home when they made the discovery.

The house was on the 13300 block of Villagrove Drive. That is near the intersection of the North Sam Houston Parkway and the Beaumont Highway.

The house had fire damage and was part of an arson investigation earlier in the year. The new owners were cleaning the damage to resell the home. They had been working for two days when they discovered rib bones and a skull. Homicide detectives say it is a full skeleton.

Harris County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation, homicide detectives and the Harris County Fire Marshal’s Office were investigating.

Fire Marshals had been to the property for the previous arson investigation.

Law enforcement was contacting the previous tenants.

This is a developing story. KHOU 11 has a crew en route to learn more.
