HOUSTON — Houston police say they’ve arrested a second suspect believed to be responsible for a series of sexual assaults in the West Gulf Bank area.

The suspect, whose identity hasn’t yet been released, was picked up Friday after police say he attacked two more women.

Another suspect — Denzeill Sneed — was arrested on Wednesday, but police told us then they were looking for a second suspect.

The man they were still looking for is someone who was wearing a ski mask and was armed with a gun during the assaults. We asked, but HPD would not confirm if this is the same man who was arrested Friday.

They did say charges are still pending. We’ll let you know when they release any more information.

Last Friday, we reported there had been at least five sexual assaults in the since mid-August, according to police. Investigators initially thought the same man was responsible for the attacks, but on Wednesday, they said they believe there are actually two men responsible and there are possibly more victims.

Investigators said Sneed was arrested and charged in connection with two of the attacks on Aug. 14 and on Nov. 8.

At a hearing in probable cause court Thursday morning, it was revealed the Sneed is charged in at least two rapes. One of the victims was allegedly attacked in her own home just after she had walked her daughter to her school bus stop.

His bond was set at $100,000 for each of the two cases.

Sneed was taken into custody in the Acres Homes area, police said.

The other three attacks are believed to have been committed by another man. Police have released a surveillance image of the unidentified suspect who’s believed to be responsible for three attacks in October.

Investigators said all of the victims were Hispanic women but they’re not sure if that’s a motive in the crimes.

Investigators said they don’t think Sneed and the other suspect are connected. They said the victims in the reported cases picked the men out of photo lineups. Police said victims picked out Sneed in the August attack and the November attack. They said the other suspect was identified in the three attacks in October.

They also said they do have DNA evidence and it’s being fast-tracked through the forensic science center.

Authorities said they will interview Sneed now that he’s in custody.

Sneed’s bond was set at $100,000 for each case.
