President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved N147.9 billion to complete the dualisation of the Oyo-Ogbomoso Road in Oyo State.
One of the president’s spokespersons, Sunday Dare, disclosed this in a statement on his X account on Monday.
The funds were approved at Monday’s Federal Executive Council meeting.
According to him, the funds will enable JRB Construction Company Limited to complete the road project and alleviate the difficulties experienced by road users.
“President Tinubu has approved the completion of the dualisation of the Oyo–Ogbomoso Road in Oyo State. The total cost is N147,887,810,833.87. Messrs JRB Construction Co. Ltd. will handle the completion of this all-important road project that has been delayed.
“President Tinubu, fully aware of the importance of the entire road, particularly the uncompleted Ibadan–Ilorin section, is committed to easing the difficulties faced by haulage trailers transporting goods and agricultural products from the North to Lagos, as well as the challenges experienced by road users, especially students,” he said.
It should be recalled that on 20 February 2025, the Nigerian Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, terminated the 98 km Oyo–Ogbomoso Road contract, which had been awarded to Reynolds Construction Company RCC.
