Transfer: Mourinho to make Chelsea striker first signing at Fenerbahce

New Fenerbahce manager, Jose Mourinho, is keen on bringing in Romelu Lukaku this summer.

Lukaku is still a Chelsea player, but spent the last season on loan at Roma, where he played under Mourinho.

Mourinho arrives at the Turkish club, looking to win their first league title since 2014.

In order to do so, the 61-year-old will be backed significantly in the transfer market.

However, who Fenerbahce targets, may depend on the outcome of the club’s upcoming presidential election.

Aziz Yildirim, who was previously in charge for 20 years until 2018, is looking to unseat incumbent Ali Koc.

Yildirim has revealed that he has already spoken with Mourinho about transfer targets.

He said: “I mentioned the players. We said Lukaku. We said [Paulo] Dybala and [Anderson] Talisca.

“We keep the rest for ourselves. I’ll tell you after I am elected.”
