Trump’s executive order establishes DOGE, Elon Musk reacts


The newly inaugurated 47th president of the United States of America, Donald Trump, has announced an executive order heralding the establishment of the Department of Government Efficiency.

This was confirmed in a White House statement on Tuesday providing details for the presidential action.

Accordingly, the executive order noted that DOGE shall “implement the President’s DOGE Agenda by modernising federal technology and software to maximise governmental efficiency and productivity.”.

This means that the US Digital Service has been renamed as US DOGE Service.

“Reorganisation and Renaming of the United States Digital Service. The United States Digital Service is hereby publicly renamed as the United States DOGE Service (USDS) and shall be established in the Executive Office of the President,” the statement reads in parts.

Reacting, the billionaire owner of X and Tesla, Elon Musk, who doubles as one of the heads of DOGE, said, “There will be meaningful progress every week.”
