The Bauchi State Police Command has apprehended two suspects in connection with the killing of Dauda Manu, a 25-year-old commercial motorcyclist, commonly known as an Okada rider.
Manu, a resident of Unguwar Buba, Fulata Lanzai, Darazo LGA, was found dead on March 5, 2025, along a roadside near Dosho Village, Darazo, with multiple injuries.
Authorities began investigating after Manu was reported missing on March 4, 2025, when he was last seen carrying two passengers on his Boxer motorcycle.
A police team later discovered his body and confirmed his death at General Hospital, Darazo.
The breakthrough in the case came on March 20, 2025, when officers arrested Yau Buba, 25, from Minchika Village, Darazo LGA, Gombe State, who was found in possession of Manu’s stolen motorcycle.
Further investigation led to the arrest of Buba Muhammadu, 22, the next day, after Buba admitted purchasing the bike from him for ₦250,000.
Both suspects are now in custody, and the case has been handed over to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further proceedings.
The Bauchi State Police Command assured residents of its ongoing efforts to combat crime and ensure justice is served.
