US, Israel looking to resettle occupants from Gaza in Africa

US and Israeli officials have reached out to at least three East African countries, holding talks about using their territories as destinations for Palestinians displaced from Gaza.

According to Africa News, this signals that Trump intends to press ahead with his widely condemned plan to relocate Gaza’s two million residents elsewhere.

It comes just hours after Trump told reporters at the White House that “nobody is expelling any Palestinians from Gaza”.

However, US officials have now revealed that Washington and Tel Aviv have contacted the governments of Sudan, Somalia, and the breakaway region of Somaliland regarding the possibility of receiving them.

All three African nations are grappling with their own crises, including civil war, drought, and famine.

Israel and the US are reportedly offering financial, diplomatic, and security incentives to these potential partners.

Sudanese authorities have rejected the US overtures, while officials from Somalia and Somaliland claim they are unaware of any such contacts.

Last month, Trump proposed a US takeover of Gaza, envisioning its development as a real estate project.
