US: Why Trump ditched Biden’s DEI in FAA – Transport Secretary Duffy

United States of America Secretary of Transport, Sean Duffy has explained why President Donald Trump ditched ex-Joe Biden’s diversity, equity, and inclusion” (DEI) in the country’s aviation sector.

He said the Trump administration focused on making US airports, roads, and train services safe for the American people.

He made this known during a recent interview with Fox News.

He explained that DEI does not have a place in the Federal Aviation Administration anywhere in the US transportation sector under Trump’s administration due to its safety-first policy.

According to him, Biden’s administration focused on green and social justice, but Trump’s administration is focused on building US infrastructure to make the airports and roads work a lot better.

“The role of this department is safety, making sure people on the road, in the air, and on trains are safe. So only want the best and the brightest because that is what takes you home to your family. So if you are hiring for other reasons, it has no place here.

“The last administration focused on green and social justice. We are focusing on actual infrastructure for traffic moves and making sure our airports and airspace work a lot better,” he said.

Duffy was confirmed as Trump’s transport secretary by the US Senate in January 28, 2025.
