VP Shettima leads FG delegation to condole Katsina Gov over mother’s death


Vice President Kashim Shettima on Tuesday led a Federal Government delegation to Katsina State to offer condolences to Governor Dikko Radda following the passing of his mother, Hajiya Sarafa’u, who died last Saturday at the age of 93.

During the visit, Vice President Shettima conveyed the condolences of President Bola Tinubu, stating that he was in the state on behalf of the President to sympathize with the governor and the people of Katsina over their loss. He described the late Hajiya Sarafa’u as a woman who lived a life worthy of emulation and noted that while death is an inevitable reality for all, reaching the age of 93 is a life to be celebrated.

Shettima assured the governor that the Federal Government shares in his grief and prayed for the peaceful repose of the deceased’s soul. He expressed hope that Allah would grant her Aljannah Firdaus and give the family, the government, and the people of Katsina the strength to bear the loss.

Speaking on behalf of the Katsina State Government, Deputy Governor Malam Faruk Jobe expressed gratitude to the Vice President for personally coming to sympathize with them. He noted that Shettima had always identified with the people and government of Katsina and thanked him for his prayers and words of encouragement. He also prayed for Allah to grant the late Hajiya Sarafa’u eternal rest and reward her with Aljannah Firdaus.

The Vice President was received at the Muhammadu Buhari House in Katsina by notable political figures, including former Governor Ibrahim Shema, former Deputy Governor Alhaji Yakubu, and the state chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Lawal Daura.

Accompanying Vice President Shettima on the visit were Usman Zannah, the member representing Kaga/Gubio/Magumeri Federal Constituency in Borno State; Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Abubakar Kyari; Minister of Transportation, Sa’idu Alkali; and the Deputy Chief of Staff to the President (Office of the Vice President), Ibrahim Hassan-Hadejia.

During the visit, the delegation offered special prayers for the soul of the deceased before departing the state.
