We can’t be victim of emotional relationship between Trump, Zelenskyy – Ex-Ukraine president, Poroshenko

Former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has insisted that his country cannot be a victim of the emotional relationship between President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and U.S. President Donald Trump.

Poroshenko made this statement while speaking about the recent conflict between Trump and Zelenskyy in the Oval Office last Friday.

Recall that the tense argument between Zelenskyy, Trump, and U.S. Vice President JD Vance occurred after the Ukrainian leader said that his country should be given security guarantees and actively included in negotiations amid the ongoing war between Ukraine and Russia.

Trump later wrote on his Truth Social account that Zelenskyy was allegedly not ready for peace between Ukraine and Russia if the United States was involved.

Zelenskyy, on his part, left the White House early after the dispute with Trump.

However, Poroshenko is urging both parties to urgently renew dialogue.

“This is not good for Ukraine. This is not good for the U.S.,” Poroshenko told Sky News presenter Jayne Secker on Monday.

“The only thing that is absolutely necessary to do, urgently, is to renew the dialogue between these two strategic partners.

“We cannot be a victim of the emotional relationship between Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelenskyy,” he said.

Poroshenko led Ukraine from 2014 to 2019 before losing the election to Zelenskyy.
