The Yobe State Ministry of Health and Human Services has organised a five-day training session aimed at harmonising the state’s health sector annual operational plan, AOP, for 2025.
The Executive Secretary of the Yobe State Primary Healthcare Board, Dr. Babaga Kundi Machina, underscored the importance of the exercise while speaking to journalists.
Dr Machina explained that the workshop is to identify key priorities for the sector in 2025 and develop strategies to improve healthcare delivery in the state.
“This is a culmination of efforts that have started earlier, where all agencies in the state have been mandated to go and look inward,” he said.
He added that the workshop aligns with the federal government’s strategic blueprint for the health sector, ensuring that Yobe State’s priorities are in line with national objectives.
The executive secretary urged participants to actively contribute to the workshop, emphasising the importance of their input for the state’s healthcare system.
The Yobe State Commissioner for Health, Dr Lawan Gana, highlighted the significance of the AOP in preventing overlaps among agencies and partners during project execution.
The commissioner, represented by the permanent secretary of the ministry, Alhaji Isa Bukar, also expressed optimism about the positive outcomes of the workshop.
