Following the death of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi , Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has confirmed First Vice President Mohammad Mokhber as the country’s acting president.
Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei announced on Monday five days of mourning for President Ebrahim Raisi who died in a helicopter crash.
“I announce five days of public mourning and offer my condolences to the dear people of Iran,” said Khamenei in an official statement a day after the death of Raisi and other officials in the crash in East Azerbaijan province.

According to the report, Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian was also among those killed, along with seven others.
His death comes on the heels of a fraught moment in the Middle East, with war raging in Gaza.
Iran’s government convened an “urgent meeting” on Monday, according to Iranian state news agency, IRNA.
Along side with the Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian, a total of nine people, including a provincial governor, were on board when the aircraft went down in northern Iran’s East Azerbaijan province. They all are believed to be dead
