There was confusion and anguish at Asaba, Oshimili South Local Government Area, Delta State Today , as fire engulfed Cartege Cinemas in Okpanam metropolis. The building was razed by fire.
Though no life was lost in the tragic event. The mall house Cartege Cinemas Okpanam road, Asaba has been smoldering since early hours of today till this evening , as eye witness report.
According to eyewitnesses, Fire fighters from both the federal and state fire service have been struggling to put out the fire.
It is not very clear at this time what caused the fire as some persons claim the fire started after power was restored at the premises.
People was seen scampering for safety, as the building continued to burn despite effort from fire service to quench the fire
Investigations are ongoing to ascertain the cause of the fire, though they are claims that the fire originated from the power supply, the fire began when power came on.
