Cyber Crime: Will detention bring an end to Internet Fraudster?

Yahoo- Yahoo as it is popularly called is a form of cyber crime and it is used to describe people who engage in online fraud or “419 scams. This particular kind of fraud is seen more among the young individuals, and it has more prevalence in Nigerian “The giant if African “.

This has become a major source of worry in the society as the ones will stop at nothing to achieve their goal. Numerous people have seen their fortunes eroded by this scourge, and the country’s standing among other nations continues to suffer from reputational damage.

In other to curb this practice security  agency such as EFCC  (Economic and Financial Crime Commission)  have been put in place to apprehend this ones, over the years a lot of  arrest have been made to stop this practice but the more the arrest the more people are trooping into the business.

Reportedly an  arrests  of  74 Suspected Internet Fraudsters in Ogun State   was made by the EFCC Operatives of the Ibadan Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,  on Thursday, March 28, 2024.

The alleged fraudsters were arrested at Government Residential Area, G.R.A, Shagamu, in Ogun State following surveillance and intelligence exposing their suspected internet-related offences. Items recovered from them include seven exotic cars, three laptops, 124 mobile phones, one PlayStation 3 game, two motorcycles and other incriminating documents.
