Transfer Talk: Liverpool eye Éderson as Slot’s first signing

The summer transfer window won’t reopen in Europe for another month, but there are plenty of moves in the works and gossip swirling around. Transfer Talk brings you all the latest buzz on rumours, comings, goings and, of course, done deals!

TOP STORY: Liverpool close in on Éderson

Liverpool are interested in signing Atalanta midfielder Éderson, according to Tuttosport.

Scouts from the Premier League club are believed to have watched La Dea recently, and it is reported that the 24-year-old caught their attention while they were keeping an eye on his teammate Teun Koopmeiners. The Reds are now preparing to make an approach to land him in what could be the first signing of new manager Arne Slot’s tenure.

Éderson enjoyed a bright season for Atalanta, scoring six goals while assisting another one in 35 Serie A appearances. He featured in a total of 52 matches across all competitions for Gian Piero Gasperini’s Europa League winners, with performances that earned him a call up to the Brazil national team for the upcoming Copa America, which is set to take place in the United States in June.

He has three years remaining on his deal at Gewiss Stadium, but it looks as though interest from the Premier League is resurfacing after he was linked with Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur in January.

Despite talks previously being at an advanced stage, it is reported that they have now stopped after the Blaugrana were unable to meet the 29-year-old’s salary demands. Kimmich is said to earn €19.5 million per season, which the LaLiga side are reportedly unable to match because of their current financial situation.

– The race for Lille centre-back Leny Yoro is heating up between Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid, reports Foot Mercato. Los Blancos are said to be preparing to make the first offer of a deal worth €30m plus bonuses.

Borussia Dortmund are willing to move on Karim Adeyemi this summer, according to Sky Deutschland. Clubs in the Premier League are believed to have already made enquiries over a potential move for the 22-year-old winger, who scored three goals in 21 Bundesliga appearances this season.

– An offer has been made to Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo by Chelsea, reports Sky Sports. The Blues are the latest club to join the race for the 26-year-old, who has been on the radar of multiple Premier League sides looking to land him on a free transfer. There have been no signs of him renewing his contract at Craven Cottage, and it is reported that he could also receive an offer from Newcastle.

Atletico Madrid have turned down the chance to sign Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi, according to AS. The LaLiga side are said to have “ruled out” his signing, after he was offered to them by his representatives. The 27-year-old is set to become a free agent next month, with no agreement reached over a new deal at the King Power Stadium.
