Turkey vs Portugal: UEFA Euro 2024 – BBC Sport

Portugal forward Diogo Jota says his side are “expecting a completely different game” when they take on Turkey in Group F on Saturday.

The Portuguese required a stoppage-time goal from substitute Francisco Conceicao to beat the Czech Republic 2-1 on Tuesday night in Leipzig.

Jota had a goal ruled out for offside in Leipzig after coming on as a substitute.

“Turkey have better players [than the Czech Republic] and they will want a different kind of match,” said Jota.

“If we can impose our game like we did against the Czechs, it could go even better because Turkey aren’t used to defending in a low block.

“If that happens, we can try to come away with the three points and qualification.”

Three points for Portugal will secure their progression to the knockout rounds.
