Tosin Adarabioyo: Chelsea make contract offer to Manchester United defensive target – Man United News And Transfer News

Chelsea have reportedly made a contract offer to Fulham star Tosin Adarabioyo as they look to pip the likes of Manchester United and Newcastle to his signature.

Adarabioyo is thought to be a player United are very interested in ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

The main attraction point for the Englishman is that he’s out of contract at Craven Cottage in a few days and can be acquired for free.

In the current football landscape, finding quality like Adarabioyo for nothing is rare, which is why some of the Premier League’s biggest clubs are on the hunt for him.

The 26-year-old made 20 Premier League appearances in the just-concluded 2023/24 top-flight season. In that time, he helped Fulham keep six clean sheets.

Adarabioyo is an intelligent defender who’s very good at anticipating attacks and snuffing out danger before it materialises. He’s brilliant at reading crosses and has excellent positioning that helps him to cut out opposition passes before they reach their intended target.

His huge frame gives him an edge in duels both on the ground and aerially. He’s also quite fast, which comes in handy when facing rapid forward players.

The Peoples Person recently covered a report which stated that despite clear indications that Newcastle are leading the race to sign him, United still want him and are prepared to hijack the Magpies’ deal to take him to St James’ Park.

There is an expectation that Adarabioyo will make a decision on his preferred transfer destination later this week.

According to Sky Sports reporter Lyall Thomas, Chelsea have entered the race to land Adarabioyo.

Thomas wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “Chelsea have made a contract offer for Tosin. Chelsea have stepped up interest to try and beat #Newcastle, who remain in talks.”

Details such as the length of the contract offered by the Blues and the proposed financial package for the player if he were to favour a switch to Stamford Bridge remain unknown.

From United’s perspective, they may deem themselves to have an advantage over Chelsea and Newcastle since they can offer Adarabioyo Europa League football, which they clinched after winning the FA Cup over the weekend.
